Ophthalmic Viscoelastic Device (OVD)
A viscous, cohesive viscoelastic fluid, Neocrom Cohesive allows:
Better coating abilities and therefore better protection of the endothelium during phacoemulsification.
Smooth, more controlled unfolding of the IOL in the capsular bag.
This may result in a lower increase in postoperative corneal thickness and a lower decrease in postoperative ECD.
Key Features & Benefits
Allows for a clear view of the surgical field during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
Comfortable retention in the anterior chamber during phacoemulsification.
Protection of intraocular tissues.
Constantly low injection force.
Can easily be removed.
Neocrom
Indication
Intended for intraocular use during ophthalmic anterior and posterior segment surgery. It protects the intraocular tissue and prevents adhesions and synechia formation during the procedure.
Progress in cataract surgery
Cataracts are treated by surgically removing the cataract and implanting an artificial replacement called an intraocular lens (IOL). Recent advances in the cataract surgery procedure have gradually reduced the size of the incisions needed for surgery from 12mm to 1.4mm, making it safer and less invasive.
